Don't stress yourself with hurry

Instead of worrying about 

What might come, or won't be

Prepare worst case scenarios

Send recipes to me

If you give me your worries

I can look after yours

My poems send you mine this time

Peform, share the applause

If I work days and you work nights

Sure, you see just what I mean

 I'm rude to them, then you're polite

We'd make the pefect team

If parents say yes, never, no

Then toddlers learn the same

Instead of 'no,' 'yes - later, dear'

This is my fav'rite game

We both understand the secret

Be wise, calm, not a fool

The extra magic's, to do it

Take action's the last rule.

Inspired by Duolingo

With rhymes playing bingo

Even just using my name

It's a wonderful game

This is bilingual, my poem

I wrote it in Italian

From phrases I learned today

Which said this, what I wanted to say - to you

I am learning Italian

I learned the past tense

What did I learn to say?

I greeted. Then I cheated

With AI translated

 I found my way

I was so excited

I practised all day

We understood each other, so well

I really liked it

Believe me, I loved it!

What time did you arrive?

What time were you there?

He had had some problems

We had kept it

Where had you put it?

We had become poor

The neighbours were rich

Now I am the teacher

I'm a learner and poet

I hope that you liked it

It is my gift to you

And your applause to me

Helps me on my way.

We will say goodbye for today

But I shall return tomorrow

We'll get together again

On a page or a train, or a plane.

I won't waste your time today

Two words, before you go on your way

I'll teach you to say hello

And I'll teach you to say goodbye.

Hear About A Polyglot's Day, Dia, comical poem number 366 by Angela Lansbury

I learned to speak in fluent French

And 'useless' Latin when at school

I passed A level, with effort

No fool, I learned the words and rules

And then I met a polyglot

His languages, not four, but eight!

For years I dreamed of my hero

But thought for me it was too late

Than along came Duolingo

And Google hit and miss Translate

What great joy, I started German

I learned, it is never too late

Each day I learned twenty new words

'though each day I forget thirty

Each day I learn to say, It's new

Can't say, It's old, dear, or dirty

I'm learning twelve new languages

Sometimes get a bit confused

I learn a lot of obscure words

Practise tenses I've never used

Yet I am learning every da y

I say all new words twice out loud

Ten words I read but cannot say

Of that I am extremely proud.

I'm always keen to add some more

New languages are what I seek

I want to add Esperanto

To my list of those I can't speak.

Acquaintances are so impressed

Just when I open with hello

In lots of foreign languages

Tell waiters yes, (but can't say no).

I say what I know how to say

Hello, Hallo, ola, bonjour

The latter is French for good day, 

Of that, at least, I'm almost sure

They think because I know two words

I must be very brainy

At least I've got something to do

Like cross words, when its rainy.

I'm learning twelve new languages

Yes, strangers are impressed

Learn one new word, then confuse two

Before I'm even dressed.

When people ask, how many

I have a good reply

"How many can  you really speak?"

I smile and reply, "Why?"

"Are you glad you've met me?

Please remember my name

Just read my blogs and learn new words

Then you can do the same

"Alas you will not understand

Those who speak too fast

But sighing, 'I can't speak one word,'

Is in your long lost past."

You stare excitedly with me

Look in the same direction

On hearing, "Look, you look it up!"

Fun spreads like an infection

And if you are not understood

And you do not know why

At least in 12 languages

You quickly say goodbye.

I cannot teach you many words

I won't confuse with thirty

Just adios, and hej hej

Au revoir, arrivaderci.

The last verse last two lines say goodby in Spanish, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian, French, and Italian.

The poem title contains the word dia, Spanish for day, a pun on the English word dear, addressing the reader as dear, which sounds the same. Hear and dear rhyme, which is a clue. Dia is actually di-a, but near enough.

Comic and tragic sound the same. Strictly speaking,

Can be learned for free online, and self-taught

Revealing old stories we can’t forget

Alpha and omega’s origins caught.  

Letters reversed remind us

Of things we have forgot

Reversed R is in toys are us

Reading and writing are not.

Hebrews and Arabs wrote right to left

Chinese from up to down

Lift numbers go from down to up

They always make me frown

I thought I'd be a polyglot

And every language learned

Would add to my enlightenment

No wonder books are burned

I've always found that history

Mixes misery and mystery

The Greek and Cyrillic alphabet

I am not quite confident yet

Writing right to left, then left to write

I see why letters were changed

A thousand years of muddle

An improvement? Just re-arranged.

Right to left and left to right

Maybe I am autistic

It all becomes a whirr and blur

Enough to make you ballistic

I've loads of books and sheets of words

I've gone to endless trouble

I put so much work into it

Yet still I'm in a muddle

I need to get this sorted out

To improve my mental health

If I teach it, maybe I'll learn it

And grow my stagnant wealth

We both know what I ought to do

Instead of writing this to you

I ought to make it clear to me

Instead of writing poetry.

 In future I think I should teach the past 

Put rules in poems, so that they will last 

Better than rules are words you can copy

You say what I say; we'll both be happy. 

Do you see now what I saw yesterday?

Are you paying? Did you pay yesterday? 

We paid yesterday. We played yesterday. 

We practise what we've learned early each day.

D'you hear what I say? You heard what I said? 

Grandma's a widow. 'cause Grandpa was dead.

I wired up the lights. They hired and fired me.

I'm tired. He's tired. We're all tired - go to bed. 

I'm speaking. I speak. Yesterday I spoke. 10
