My Left and Right. Comical Poem number 809 by prolific poet Angela Lansbury.

There is only one of me

However, a select few

Know the strangest truth

That some parts of me have two

I have two hands

I have two feet

Gloves, shoes and socks

Odd socks must meet

I have two eyes

I have two ears

One brain, high hopes

Few fears and tears

Lots of wrinkles

Show many years

Some fading scars

From fights with cars

One tummy, full

One busy, beating heart

But let me go back

To the thoughtful counting start
