Moving On comical poem 804 by Angela Lansbury

When you know it's time that you were moving on

There's no turning back, you must be strong

It doesn't matter who was right or wrong

If you don't belong together, time for moving on

There's plenty more fish in the sea

Plenty more flowers for the bee

Plenty more apples on the tree

Someone new for you and someone new for me

No point in looking back

In counting out the things we lack

The things we wish we never said

Or should have said - like unmade cakes inside your head

It's time to go far away, to find new friends

Who never met you, Won't recollect you

Won't stop to ask me what went wrong

Instead they sing a brand new song

So when they ask what brought you here

I'll smile and tell them with good cheer

I wanted something new to do

And I won't think of you.

I won't replay an endless loop

Like picking peas out of a soup

Instead I'll find a brand new group

And see how much I can recoup

And when I see the young teens crying

When elsewhere worse off folk are dying

I shall just feel like replying

They've gone, it's time for moving on.

There's plenty more fish in the sea

Plenty more flowers for the bee

Plenty more apples on the tree

Someone new for you and someone new for me.
