Private bedroom and bathroom. Comical poem number 781 by Angela Lansbury

I used to bath, but baths take too much water

More than a shower for parents and daughter

So now I relax in a nice warm shower

And try not to take much more than an hour

Then, warm and clean I can relax

I exercise lying on my back

I count sheep in French or Spanish

Until the sheep race off and vanish

Four-posters for bedsits? I'd love one of those

Discount Dunlopillo's the one which I chose

I'm allergic to feathers, trust what I possess

My duvet's red, like my favourite night dress

When I am asleep I hope none can see

Into the dream places where I'd like to be.

The bedroom's a place for night time privacy

For big secrets known to small pillows and me.

Night Light Toilet Trip comic poem 371 by Angela Lansbury

It's dark at night

There is no light

I won't wake others

And give them a fright

So when I feel

That nature calls

I creep out

And collide with walls

I hope that I

Won't trip and fall

At first I am not

Pleased at all

But in the bathroom

In the light

Shut door, and wait

Turn on the light

Here I am

It's only me

I can see

The colour of wee

Turn off the light

Now I don't mind

Learn what its like

When you are blind

It's not to bad

I quicly find

I'll leave the bathroom

Far behind

I feel the carpet

On the floor

I feel hard hadnle

On the door

Tiptoe along

Holding the walls

I'm confident

That I won't fall

In the bedroom

Knees reach soft bed

Feel for the pillow

Rest my head

My silk pillow

Strokes my soft cheek

I'm calm and I'll

Review my week

But now the now

Is in my mind

If I were blind

I would not mind

You lose one sense

Don't worry much

You find another

With your touch

Now here's a thought

I want to keep

But in seconds

I'm fast asleep.

Baby Teeth - Baby Food For Thought (Comic Poem 125)

I learned about food and first teeth

From watching a small baby

Although she doesn't yet possess

A food vocabulary

When she likes a favourite food

She reaches out, keen for more

Then when she's eaten quite enough

She falls asleep - on the floor

If she likes a big banana

She will quickly gulp it down

But if a new food disgusts her

She shows - throws it on the ground

When she chucks her milk bottle down

It's always a loud surprise

But my quick jumping up and down

Is good granny exercise

I always trust fate has a plan

So it's my fervent belief

Each day, each cry's a vital step

Signalling soon we'll see teeth

One day she'll grow her second teeth

On her big day, I'm in line

Old teeth will be treasured by me

By that time I'll have lost mine!

This granny will be tooth fairy

Those teeth I buy won't be sold

We should collect and keep first teeth

For second smilehood when we're old.

Inspired by grand-child Ava who has two teeth and likes bananas.

Second smile hood is a pun on second childhood. I was thinking of toothless but thought smile was a more positive word.
