The Cranes Fly-Past poem 472

I could say flying cranes look like dancers

Like runners, like swimmers, a horse's mane

They start a symbol of desolation

But ballet teams, not in isolation

After we've done our best to protect and protest

A fresh word and image brings peace, consolation
