Chair and Table Travels 594

We've chills, and sickness

So we can't go out

Yet sit at our desks

Fingers dance about

Relax in your chair

And travel today

Plan, wonder, enjoy

See sights far away

Silver screen's home page

Like magic potions

Shows rivers and seas

Gigantic oceans

Posies in vases

Flowers in florists

Gardens and orchards

Trees in fine forests

Airports and trolleys

Sleeping, reclined seats

Cliff overlooks, valleys

Strange people you meet

Squirrels and eagles

Donkeys, old men, carts

Cities with big shops

Hats, dresses with hearts

Best cut mosquitos

Escapes, near drowning

Fires and bad liars

Anyone frwning

If I make mistakes

See too much sorrow

Never mind, we'll be

Better tomorrow.

My Obituary comical poem 573 by Angela Lansbury

It's time to plan my funeral

I've reached the age of eighty-nine

Because if I wait ten years more

I won't have energy nor time

It's something that's been haunting me

I think about it day and night

I think I'll be a help to you

If I say who you should invite

That's easy. I'll just make a list

Of every friend and foe I've known

Then, as they die, I'll cross them out

Until, at last, I'm left alone

I'll list countries I've travelled to

What I've missed, done wrong - and done right!

And quirky things I like to do

Like writing poems in bed at night

I'll write my own obituary

So many good things to say of me

I used to write, I used to teach

I wrote my own funeral speech.

The Happy Traveller. Comic poem 148 by Angela Lansbury.

I'm the world's most happy traveller

I've travelled far and near

To the kitchen and the bathroom

Around the world with you, my dear

I've travelled to Australia

Austria, America, Malaysia

To places grander, and seedier

All through Wikipedia

Travelling makes you happier

Travelling makes you greedier

Travelling makes you dishevelled and dappier

Travelling make you needier

You want to travel when you're stuck at home

You want to be home when you're far away

Today you wish it was tomorrow

Tomorrow you'll wish it was today

Travelling makes you wise and proud

Of what you leave, you see, and do

I'm glad to say I've travelled so much -

I can count one country more than you.

Shall I change that to

'I have travelled to one place more than you' ?
