Strange Senses comical poem 838 by Angela Lansbury

I feel soft carpet on the floor

I feel towels, so soft and damp

I feel hard handles on each door

See light cast shadow from the lamp

I hear the hum of traffic noise

Gulp down refreshing cups of water

I see shelves of bright dolls, bears, toys

I hear birdsong, and distant laughter

And yet one day we'll all pass on

We will not sniff nor touch nor feel

What we see now will all be gone

Yet what I see now seems so real

Some say slow down, others hurry

My eyes, my nose, my teeth, my toes,

Some say stay calm; others worry

Life's brief, lovely, real, like a rose.
